Don’t be fooled by the name this establishment is more than its namesake. Expect to find great comfort food with local and Texas ingredients.

My visit came on a Saturday during their brunch hour. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded luckily. However, I ended up eating outside under a covered patio with two huge fans to escape the heat and to reduce unncessary exposure during a pandemic.
Food
My first item ordered was the fan favorite jalapeño biscuits as an appetizer and is only available during the weekend brunch.
The hearty biscuits stuffed with mild jalapeños were intensely delicious with an irresistible sausage gravy sauce on the side. I will definitely order this bad baby again.

This variation of chicken and waffles is very much different from other great Houston restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and crispy the chicken tenders were. The chicken meat was fairly moist and cooked just right. Below the tenders were the Belgian waffle, which was fairly good. It was stuffed with extremely flavorful candied bacon. Also, the dish is complemented with the already incredible sausage gravy and a nicely cooked sunny side up egg. It surpassed even Jupiter Pizza & Waffles, which in its own right is really good.

Whiskey Cake with intensely mouthwatering food and remarkable accessibility is a nice treat for any summer afternoon occasion. With a nice outdoor patio and great cold beverage, you will be in absolute food bliss.
