The newly renovated French restaurant on Post Oak has reopened. Some of the new upgrades include the beautiful outdoor patio. With exquisite food, expect to be in food heaven.

Experience

This was not my first visit to La Table, however, the restaurant has significantly changed since then. Some of the new features are the consolidation into one restaurant and a larger focus on French food classics.  Lastly, the addition of the outdoor seating is the most important aspect with homages to the classic outdoor French cafe.
With regards to this visit, I chose to eat outside since I’m still not comfortable eating inside.  It was a little chilly, but luckily they have a few heaters near most tables. Moreover, the outdoor atmosphere was fairly impressive and the outdoor patio was magnificently stunning with al fresco aesthetics.

Food

Steak Fries

Before getting to the food, the restaurant is the perfect place for a special occasion or date night. The food is flat out delicious and a certain treat for those wanting to splurge.

The food experience starts off with the waiter bringing out individual baguettes for the tables with chilled butter on the side. The complementary French bread was super and great with the delicious French onion soup.  Speaking of French onion soup, I ordered that as a starter.  This particular soup was incredible with nice chunks of beef shank and generous portions of gruyere cheese. Definitely a must for this restaurant.

For the entree, I went with the flavorful filet steak frites. This exquisite Angus beef comes from local ranchers just outside Houston. I ordered the filet medium and it was perfectly juicy and complemented with a nice tasty peppercorn sauce on top. If you are in the mood to splurge on filet this is the place and beats other fine steak restaurants. Lastly, I wish to acknowledge that the service was incredible and the waiters were attentive and quite friendly. It was a relaxing experience.

Accessibility

The overall accessibility is excellent, though the bathroom is a tad small for most wheelchairs. Outside of this issue, the restaurant has easy access to the outside patio and has a few tables that can accommodate most wheelchairs.

  • Easy access inside and outside the restaurant
  • Tables can accommodate most wheelchairs
  • Has an elevator to the upstairs area for private events
  • Waiter service
  • Provides paper menus
  • All employees wear masks and the restaurant provides hand sanitizer for all guests

La Table left me with an incredible experience that is unmatched for an American French restaurant. If you want the perfect Parisian cafe experience without going to Paris, then you are certainly in luck. The prices are fairly lofty, but the experience is well worth the food splurge.
