Experience

I came on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant wasn’t too crowded.  I was able to pick my table and noticed there was plenty of space for wheelchairs.  Also, the restaurant has a spacious layout, which was great for maneuvering. Though, the tables can be a little crammed for most power chairs, but manageable.

The staff was pretty quick to seat me and hand off menus. My waiter was fairly good with my brief interactions. This was due in part by the food coming out fairly quick. It didn’t bother me too much since I was pretty hungry.

Now to the most important part, the meal.

I started with the beef brisket and pork and beef sausage.  For sides I went with dirty rice and potato salad.  The brisket was very good, though it did have a little bit of marble or fat.  Wasn’t too of an issue and didn’t impact the taste. All in all was very delicious, though quite salty. Both sides were excellent and great choices for southern comfort. Quite filling with just the right amount of spice,

Lastly, the tomato based Texas barbecue sauce was very good.  Not too empowering, though does have a little kick.

For dessert, I went with the peach cobbler.  It comes in a paper cup, though the cobbler still comes out pretty hot.  The cobbler was really good and by far the best peach cobbler I had in a long time. Surprisingly, it’s very hard to find great cobbler in the Houston area until now.
