In the heart of Upper Kirby, Bollo offers amazing Neopolitan pizza to splurge on. With notable items such as Anglio and the exceptional white pizza rarity, Shrimp Scampi. Also, they have an excellent selection of Italian adult drinks and excellent small plates during happy hour as well.
Experience
My visit came on a Sunday afternoon around 4 or so. It was fairly empty in the restaurant, except for the bar area that had happy hour specials. It’s not a fairly big building, but there is plenty of room for most wheelchairs. Also, the place has waiter service, much like Grimaldis‘ and waiters are not very intrusive, which is often a plus for me.
With regards to the beginning of my meal, I ordered a Passion Fruit Margarita, a daily special, and crispy calamari as an appetizer. The margarita was okay, but the drink didn’t seem to taste much like a passion fruit drink. I probably wouldn’t order it again and will stick to a regular margarita next time. Nevertheless, the crispy calamari was exceptional and fried just right. The addition of tzatziki on the side was a nice change for calamari. A great small plate selection that can serve up to a party of 4.

Now to the ultimate part of the meal, the exquisite Bollo pizza. The pizzas can serve one person if you are hungry or be split among two people. In my case, I ordered the Anglio pizza for myself.
This particular pizza comes with buffalo mozzarella, roasted garlic, Italian parsley, shaved parmesan, and oregano. Also, I added an additional topping of pepperoni. Personally, the pizza was simply amazing and was extremely tasty, even without the addition of pepperoni. Even the crust cooked at 800 degrees had the perfect crispy texture. This is certainly one of their finest options and something I will order again.
Accessibility
Bollo has exceptional accessibility with a minor flaw that isn’t too troubling. The main entrance path is a tad small for a wheelchair, but fortunately the takeout entrance next to accessible parking. This entrance goes through the small bar area to get to the dining room. It’s no big deal during less crowded times, something to be aware of when dining during usual dinner hours.
Ultimately Bollo pizza with highly exceptional food and good accessibility is well worth the trek into Houston for any occasion.
