Houston Heights

This French and Ecuadorian fusion restaurant is a great place for a Sunday brunch or a special occasion dinner.  Don’t let the fusion concept confuse you because this is still a French restaurant, but with a South American twist.  They have the usual fares like French Onion soup and steak frites with Ecuadorian garnishes.  Their desserts are also top notched with the highly recommended chocolate souffle made with Ecuadorian chocolate.

I went on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was not too crowded for the Brunch.  Fortunately, their Brunch is not a buffet concept like many places.  The restaurant is a little small, but I noticed they have outside tables that would be great when it’s cooler out.  In my case, I was able to get a table inside that accommodated my chair.  The inside was very nice with a Parisian cafe look with lounge chairs and open kitchen.

To start since this was a weekend brunch, I ordered a blackberry bellini to drink.  This alcoholic drink is a mix of a prosecco and blackberry puree.  I would say this drink was pretty good and quite a nice alternative to a mimosa, which are also great.

For the entree, I ordered the Steak Frites & Eggs.  This was an excellent selection with a nice wagyu steak with bearnaise sauce.  The steak was quite tasty and was cooked just right.  On the side were scrambled eggs and french fries seasoned with Ecuadorian spices.

Accessibility

Maison Pucha Bistro Inside Seating.

Overall accessibility of Maison Pucha is remarkably good with easy access into the restaurant and has plenty of tables to accommodate a chair.  With regard to parking, there are a few accessible parking spots in the back of the restaurant and not too far from the entrance.  The bathroom was a standard size bathroom, which means for many wheelchair users could pose a problem.

With amazing accessibility and excellent food, Maison Pucha is truly a nice treat for anyone looking for a relaxing brunch or a nice dinner.  Certainly, an impressive new addition as one of Houston’s finest restaurants.
