In Texas, there has been a big debate between Whataburger and In-N-Out Burger as the better burger option. However, another competitor has entered the competition in recent years with the expansion of the NY Shake Shack to Texas. Shake Shack may not get the love as Texas favorite Whataburger but it will certainly create a buzz before the first In-N-Out comes to Houston.

My visit came on a Saturday afternoon, a week after its grand opening. There was quite a crowd in the restaurant, but not too overwhelming. Fortunately, I was able to find a few tables that could accommodate my chair. The restaurant is your usual fast food establishment with no waiter service, but with better service.

The food here is highly rated with food critics, but as an ordinary person, I needed to find out on my own. To start I ordered a Peppermint Chocolate shake to go with my Lockhart Link burger and crinkle fries. This shake was exceptionally good and they did not go skimpy on the peppermint pieces. As a seasonal item, this was probably the best winter holiday treat of 2018.
For the biggest item of them all, the Lockhart Link burger comes with Kreuz barbeque smoked sausage stacked on a beef patty with cheese sauce and thousand island dressing. This really did surpass all my expectations and is a perfect burger for anyone that loves Texas barbeque. I will definitely order this again on my next visit.

The overall accessibility of the restaurant was remarkably good for a fast food establishment and parking was the easiest of any restaurant in the Montrose area. There were no major concerns that would impact most chair users, except for ordering food during peak lunch or dinner hours.
