Houston’s finest Persian restaurant with remarkable consistency since 1999.
Notable items are the beef or chicken kubideh skewers with dill rice and their hummus is freaking incredible. For the less adventurous, the kabobs are excellent as well.
My visit was on a Sunday afternoon around 4 or so. The restaurant was half filled with a decent amount of tables available. I chose a table in the front, out of the way of other tables. Fortunately, all tables are the same and can accommodate chairs.
Now to the food where I can’t forget to mention the hummus. I ordered the hummus as an appetizer and it came with Persian bread, often referred to as taftoon bread. This was probably the best hummus in all of America. With a nice blend of Persian spices, this hummus is phenomenal.
With regards to the entree, I ordered the chicken sultani, a skewer of charbroiled chicken kubideh and chicken barg, boneless chicken tenderloins. This was quite an exceptional option with elegant Persian spices that gives this dish the perfect taste for any palette. All dishes come with basmati rice, but if you want to spice thing up, order the dill rice with fava beans. Definitely a great alternative to plain white rice.
Nevertheless, it’s hard to go wrong with any of the dishes, particularly the kabobs and skewer entrees.
The overall accessibility of Kasra is outstanding except for minor issues that may impact experience for chair users. Most importantly, the bathrooms are only satisfactory for manual chairs and the restaurant can be a tad claustrophobic in the back of the restaurant. Outside of these concerns, Kasra offers highly exceptional features, such as no steps and easy access.
- No steps
- Accessible parking available
- Easy access
- Bathrooms partially accessible for manual chairs only
- Restaurant is crammed in back of the restaurant
With phenomenal food and excellent accessibility, Kasra is truly Houston’s most exquisite Persian restaurant and with a relaxing atmosphere, you will certainly know why.
