Located at Levy Park in Upper Kirby, Woodshed Smokehouse offers a nice place to enjoy smoked Texas barbecue and other delicacies. Enjoy a nice cold drink after a relaxing park stroll. Additionally, the restaurant is very dog friendly with plenty of outdoor tables the whole family can enjoy.
Experience
My visit came on a Sunday afternoon and I was fortunate to find an accessible parking spot. The park was crowded, but luckily the restaurant was not too busy. Though many of the outdoor tables did not have much shade, I luckily got a nice table near the back of the restaurant.
Food
Smoked hummus was good, albeit different from hummus at many fine Mediterranean restaurants. All in all was tasty, but not their best offerings with regards to starters.
Pork empanadas were superb and had a nice tomatillo-based sauce that was overtly delicious. Definitely, one of their best appetizers.
The chopped brisket sandwich was very tasty with a slightly, spicy mustard sauce. Quite a messy sandwich but the meat was of great quality.
The blackberry and strawberry cobbler was huge and can easily be shared by a few people. It was extraordinary and overtly delicious. This combination was a nice concoction with a scoop of ice cream on the side. I would certainly get this again if it’s on the menu.

Accessibility
Woodshed offers adequate accessibility with only a few hiccups. Luckily they are not too problematic. The bathroom situation is the only issue that I noticed. Luckily Levy Park offers a more spacious wheelchair-accessible bathroom at the pavilion if needed. Below is a list of other accessibility features.
