Candente is one of Houston’s newest Tex-Mex restaurants and has received well deserved praise by critics. Owned by the same owners as the well-received Pit Room, they certainly have surpassed lofty expectations.

This casual New-American restaurant from the owner of B.B Butchers offers excellent wagyu burgers and seafood options including the blue crab beignets. With high-quality food, you won’t be disappointed in much of their other options.
Shake Shack Review
In Texas, there has been a big debate between Whataburger and In-N-Out Burger as the better burger option. However, another competitor has entered the competition in recent years with the expansion of the NY Shake Shack to Texas. Shake Shack may not get the love as Texas favorite Whataburger but it will certainly create a buzz before the first In-N-Out comes to Houston.

The Hay Merchant is a new American bar and restaurant with exceptional food. The food here has a strong emphasis on Southern and Texas cuisine with huge burgers and classic fares such as chicken fried steak.
Hugo’s Review
Hugo’s is Houston’s premier Mexican restaurant and offers amazing food that cannot be beaten. Every item on the menu is high quality and very authentic.
Baba Yega Cafe (Temporarily Closed)
One of Montrose best restaurants and is often known for their Sunday brunch and organic American dining. For those who are vegan, their menu is quite extensive and will definitely not disappoint.
