Houston’s Best Restaurants
This year’s best restaurants provide exemplary food and exceptional accessibility. All rated restaurants have been documented and verified by my personal experience.
1. Kirans
By far the best Indian restaurant and Houston’s best restaurant. This is a great place for a special occasion or if you’re craving Indian cuisine. The food is breathtakingly good and the restaurant is remarkably accessible. Worthy items are Chicken Tikka Masala as a entree and the Crab and Corn Samosas for an appetizer. 2. Hugo’s
Hugo’s is Houston’s finest Mexican restaurants with world class food and superb service. Most notable items are the Carne Brava (Wood-grilled steak) and Lechon (braised suckling pig) as a starter. Hugo’s also has an outstanding Sunday brunch buffet with most of Hugo’s finest dishes. You can see my review here.
3. Maison Pucha Bistro
This Ecuadorian-French fusion is one of Houston Heights’ finest restaurants. Notable items to order is the Wagyu Steak Frites & Eggs, comes with Ecuadorian seasoned french fries, and the Ecuadorian Shrimp Ceviche (4 jumbo shrimp, lime, serrano, red onion and plantain chips). 4. State of Grace
This New-American restaurant with an upscale twist on Southern cuisine is exceptional. Excellent choices would be the cane buttered hushpuppies stuffed with blue crab as a starter or try the fabulous lobster roll for lunch or the weekend brunch. 5. Local Foods
What makes Local Foods superb is the heavy focus on using ingredients from local and Texas sources and an emphasis on everything organic. Top items to order are the Gulf Seafood sandwich (shrimp and blue crab and green goddess dressing) or the vegan Garden Sammie (brussels sprouts, avocado, hummus, and curried cauliflower). 6. Thai Siam
Quite possibly, the best Thai restaurant in the entire Houston area with superb food and exceptional service. Noticeable dishes at this Sugar Land restaurant are the massanum curry (coconut milk, onions, potatoes, and peanuts) or the yellow curry (chicken, coconut milk, potatoes, onions, and carrots). 7. Guru Burger
If you want an exceptional burger with the freshest ingredients on the planet then Guru Burger is your place. Top items are The King burger, which uses Akaushi beef and comes with peanut butter, smoked bacon, sweet plantains, and grape preserve. Also, Cannonballs, are a phenomenal starter with Akaushi beef stuffed with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos bacon. 8. Cooking Girl
This Sugar Land Sichuan restaurant is phenomenal with authentic Chinese food that is unparalleled. Noticeable items are the sweet-sour cucumber appetizer that is complimented nicely with pepper. If you want something spicy the spicy chicken cube is superb with fried dark meat pieces topped with dry red peppers, peanuts, and peppercorn. The orange chicken with
9. Jupiter Pizza & Waffles
This Sugar Land establishment offers excellent food with dishes with pop culture references. The major niche here is waffles and pizza, with an overwhelming number of options. Great selections are the Southern Belle, fried chicken topped with a Belgian waffle, or try one of Jupiter’s amazing skillet meals, such as something with bacon. See my review here.
10. Hoggs N’ Chicks
This family-run restaurant in Missouri City with top notched comfort food and affordable prices is hard to beat. Great selections are the pulled pork sliders, buttermilk chicken tenders, or the crab cake sandwich, often a daily special. With great service and exceptional food, it is no surprise that Hoggs N’ Chicks is such a treat for regulars and first-time diners. See my review here.
