Katy, Texas
If you love Cajun cuisine with a “Tex-Orlean” twist, then BB’s Cafe is your place. The food is outstanding with a nice selection of tasty Po’Boys to Louisiana classics such as crayfish by the pound. Also, Tex-Orlean dishes are worth trying such as the Boudin Flauta which is stuffed with crab.
Experience
BB’s Cafe has several locations in the Houston area, but this particular location is probably the most accessible of all the franchises. My visit was on a Sunday afternoon around 3 or so and it was somewhat crowded. There were fortunately quite a few tables that could accommodate a wheelchair. Also, I did not have to maneuver around other tables to reach my destination.
The food was fabulous and every item that I ordered received high marks and is now my replacement for Ragin Cajun, which the nearest location closed down a few months ago. Nevertheless, I will start with the first item that I ordered, which was the Boudin Balls as an appetizer. This item is ultimate, a fried cornmeal ball stuffed with dirty rice, pork, and Creole spices. These were mouth-watering good and most certainly a can’t miss appetizer.

Now, the entree I ordered was the fried shrimp po’boy or “Bedtime in the Bayou” on the menu. Po’boy can vary on how tasty and what type of meat is used. The fried shrimp po’boy was outstanding with an abundance of spices and a nice remoulade sauce to complement the sandwich, which is served on French bread.

Definitely, a can’t miss item to order if your craving shrimp. Also, their other po’boys are worth trying, including the roast beef.
Accessibility
The overall accessibility of the restaurant is remarkably good with only minor quirks that are not too problematic. Parking is quite good with a few accessible spots near the restaurant and access to the restaurant is fairly easy. The only issue that I could find was the bathrooms were a little small and the restaurant can be hard to maneuver during peak hours. Outside of those concerns, the restaurant and the service receive high marks. To conclude, with great accessibility and amazing food BB’s cafe is truly an exemplary restaurant that ranks as the top Louisiana/Cajun restaurant in all of Houston.
