With fall finally, here, more pleasant weather will make outdoor fun much more enjoyable and entertaining particularly in October. Try these accessible options.

  1. Houston Zoo
    Cooler temperatures bring a better experience for everyone and Halloween festivities throughout October can be quite entertaining for the whole family.
  2. Texas Renaissance Festival
    Jousting Arena Event
    Starting October 5 to December 1, the Texas Renaissance Festival offers different themes each weekend. The park is fairly accessible with paved walkways and most big venues have spots for wheelchairs.
    Don’t forget to see some of the entertaining shows from comedy and music to jousting throughout the day.
  3. George R Ranch
    Visit this outstanding and highly accessible outdoor museum with homes illustrating 150 years of Texas pioneer life. Also, enjoy the cattle complex with a ranching demonstration with cowboys on horseback herding and roping cattle.
  4. Kemah Boardwalk
    Enjoy boardwalk fun with family-friendly attractions including the Stingray Reef and Rainforest Exhibit at the Aquarium restaurant. Also, you can try your luck with fun games or take a nice stroll and enjoy a breeze off the Galveston Bay. In October don’t forget to enjoy Halloween festivities and even a haunted house if you wish.

    With pleasant temperatures, this alligator park is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and even see a Texas alligator and other unique wildlife to South Texas. Also, you can visit the George Observatory every Saturday at 8 pm to see the stars.
