Mahesh’s Kitchen, a new Indian restaurant, just opened at Sugar Land Town Square. Expect to enjoy potent cocktails and amazing Indian food.

Mahesh’s Kitchen offers amazing upscale Indian cuisine and a excellent wine and cocktail menu. If overwhelmed with their superb menu, you can’t go wrong with the chicken tikka masala or butter chicken. Also, waiters recommendations are great as well.
Experience
I visited Mahesh’s on a less hectic weekday, though had to make reservations for outdoor seating. Seating was fairly limited with about 3- 4 tables spots available. However, a few tables aren’t fully covered or shaded. Though they do allow requests for these premiere spots if needed.
If table aesthetics are important to your experience, then you will enjoy a nice fine dining feel. With blue linen cloths and wine glasses laid out beautifully, I was fairly impressed at my seating. For many it may not be important, though Mahesh’s shows intense detail to ensure that outdoor dining is as superb as their indoor experience.
Dining
To start, I went with the Taj red sangria. A nice refreshing drink with a nice boozy kick and beautiful fruit and flowers sprinkled on top. The drink was pretty good, though a tad strong for my preference
Next, I went with the city walk samosas for my appetizer. They were delicious and very tasty with a nice spicy kick. Also, the dish comes with a tasty green sauce and brown chutney sauce. Be aware the green sauce is fairly spicy than usual. Chutney sauce was sweet and tangy, but not too spicy
For my meal, I went with my usual Chicken Tikka Masala. Their version was outstanding and comes with a new touch of cashew nuts mixed in. The meat was slowly cooked and complemented nicely with a sweet masala curry. A great entry level option for those new to Indian food.
I also ordered the delicious lemon rice, which comes with a nice combination of peanuts and red chili ginger. This does comes with a small additional charge if you want to replace the basmati rice. It is well worth it and is big enough for two-three people.
Lastly, I ordered the garlic naan on the side. It was pretty good, but needs a little more garlic in my opinion. Nevertheless, I will try the serrano pepper naan next time.
Accessibility
The overall accessibility for Mahesh’s Kitchen is fairly excellent despite the limitations of the Town Square parking. Fortunately, during non peak dining hours the experience shouldn’t be too problematic.
- Easy access to patio and indoor restaurant
- Tables can accommodate most wheelchairs
- Step free paths available
- Accessible parking is limited in front of restaurant
- Parking garage nearby has more spots
- Standard bathrooms can accommodate most manual wheelchairs
- Paper menus available
- Menu can be viewed online
- Waiter service
Verdict
Mahesh’s delicious food and fine dining experience were top notched. With exceptional service and excellent accessibility, this is a welcoming addition to Sugar Land’s dining scene.
